Notes
In Salesforce, a tab is a user interface element that represents an object or a custom application in the navigation bar. Tabs allow users to quickly access the data and functionality associated with the represented object or application.
Each tab in Salesforce corresponds to an object or a custom application, and provides quick access to important information and functionality related to that object or application. For example, the Account tab in Salesforce provides access to all the accounts in the system, and allows users to view, create, and edit account records.
Tabs can be customized and configured in a number of ways. For example, administrators can add or remove tabs from the navigation bar, customize the appearance of the tabs, and control access to specific tabs based on user profiles and roles.
In addition to standard tabs, which correspond to standard objects in Salesforce, users can also create custom tabs for custom objects and custom applications. Custom tabs can be used to provide quick access to data and functionality that is unique to the organization.
Overall, tabs in Salesforce play a key role in providing a user-friendly and efficient interface for users to access and interact with data and functionality in the platform.
You can create new custom tabs to extend Salesforce functionality or to build new application functionality. Custom Object tabs look and behave like the standard tabs provided with Salesforce.
