Salesforce Admin Tip: Enabling the "Query All Files" Permission for Email Attachments
If your users need to send emails with attachments in Salesforce, it’s important to enable the Query All Files permission. This specific permission allows users to access and attach files stored in various records, providing greater flexibility in handling documents.
What Does the "Query All Files" Permission Do?
When enabled, this permission allows users with View All Data access to query both ContentDocument and ContentVersion objects. This capability means that users can retrieve and attach any file in the organization, even those in non-member libraries and unlisted groups.
Key Benefits:
- Wider Access to Files: Users can access files across the organization, ensuring they can include relevant documents in emails.
- Enhanced Email Capabilities: Streamlines the process of attaching files to emails, especially when files are stored in multiple locations.
How to Enable:
Navigate to the App Permissions section in the user’s profile or permission set, locate Query All Files, and check the box to activate this permission.
Make sure your users have this setting enabled for seamless access to attachments in Salesforce.
